Mighty Moose 5k Run/Walk for Ovarian Cancer

Sat September 9 - Sun September 24

Race Day Protocols

We wish to provide a Covid safe environment for the 2021 event and ask you to adhere to the following safety protocols:

  • Masks/face coverings are optional but fully supported by the Mighty Moose if you choose to wear one prior, during or following the race.
  • All event activities will take place outside and there will be no access into Concord Carlisle High School. Portable Toilets will be provided and will be located in the CCHS parking lot. There will be no face painting this year.
  • We will not require participants to wear a mask on the racecourse. In general, because of airflow and dispersion afforded by being outdoors, as well as the limited duration that any two participants spend near each other on the course, the probability of transmission during racing is strongly reduced. Water station volunteers will wear gloves, and offer cups of water with an extended arm.
  • Social distancing when outdoors, one meter (three feet), should be maintained between individuals even on the race course.
  • Medical staff will be provided with masks and gloves and be stationed outdoors if needed. Runners, staff, or volunteers entering our medical tent will be offered a mask to wear prior to entry.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available at key locations near the start of the race.
  • We highly recommend picking up your race bib and registration packet on Saturday, Sept. 25 at CCHS. The hours are 9:30 am - Noon and 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm in front of the CCHS cafeteria.
  • Children who are running the 1 mile or ½ mile will be spread out by either age or grade and will have a staggered start on the lower field. There is plenty of space on the lower fields for parents to spread out around the field.
  • Runners and walkers at the 5k starting line will be spaced out at the start of the race according to their estimated per mile time. All Bibs will have a timing mechanism tracking when you cross the start line and the finish line enabling us to stagger the cohorts at the start. Your bib will not start timing your 5k until you pass through the starting line. You must wait in your designated area with your per mile time cohort prior to the start of the race as volunteers will direct each group to progress toward the starting line of the race. This will allow participants to maintain distance on the race course.
